Answer:
Madhya Pradesh
Notes: The Kalachuri Empire ruled over parts of present-day Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The Kalachuris were an Indian dynasty that ruled in west-central India between the 6th and 7th centuries. The Kalachuris were also known as the Haihayas.
The Kalachuri dynasty had two kingdoms:
- The "Chedi" kingdom, which ruled over Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Malwa, and Maharashtra)
- The "Haihaya" kingdom, which ruled over Southern India (Karnataka)
The Kalachuris had their capital at Mahishmati. The earliest of the Ellora and Elephanta cave monuments were built during the Kalachuri rule. The Kalachuri dynasty was founded by Kokkal-I (875-925). Kokkal-I was the first historical ruler to establish marriage relations with the Rashtrakutas and Chandelas.
