Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth of ten Gurus of the Sikh religion. He was born at Amritsar in 1621 and was the youngest son of Guru Hargobind He founded Anandpur Sahib. On the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, he was executed in Delhi in 1675.
Guru Amar Das introduced the ceremony of the Anand Karaj Marriage. He abolished the custom of Sati and Purdah system among the Sikhs. He was contemporary of Akbar.
