Notes: Biological Nitrogen Fixation is not limited to anaerobic (oxygen-absent) conditions; some bacteria such as Azotobacter fix nitrogen aerobically. Additionally, both symbiotic and non-symbiotic (free-living) bacteria are capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen, making both statements incorrect.
