Notes:
The Indus River originates from a glacier near Bokhar Chu in the Kailash Mountain range, close to Mansarovar Lake in the Tibetan region. It flows northwest, entering the Ladakh region of India at Demchok, and continues between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges. In Tibet, it is called ‘Singi Khamban’ or the Lion’s Mouth.
Its right-bank tributaries include the Shyok, Gilgit, Hunza, Swat, Kunnar, Kurram, Gomal, Tochi, and Kabul rivers.
In contrast, its left-bank tributaries are the Zaskar, Suru, Soan, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, Satluj, and Panjnad rivers.
The Jiri, Sonai, Dhaleswari, and Katakhal rivers are the tributaries of the Barak River.
