Azores, lying to the west of Africa, it is a group of volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean. These islands partly belong to Portugal and some of them are autonomous. These islands were discovered by the Portuguese in the later part of the fifteenth century. The islands were developed winds blowing from the northeast, and in winter strong winds blow from the southwest bringing temperate cyclones and plenty of rainfall.
