Panna is located in the north-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh. The diamond mines in Panna are managed by the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) of the Government of India. Since 2021, only a 77.72-carat diamond has been discovered in Panna. Asia's only active diamond mine is located in Majhagaon, which is about 55 km away from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
