Q. Who was immediate successor of Balban?
Answer: Kaiqubad
Notes: After the death of Balban in 1287, Kaiqubad, the Grandson of Balban succeeded to the throne. He was raised to the throne by nobles. He ruled the Delhi sultanate from 1287 CE to 1290 CE. However, he was soon replaced by his son, Shams ud-Din Kayumars, who remained on the throne for a little over three months. Shams ud-Din Kayumars was a small child who remained on throne from February 1290 to June 1290 and was later killed and replaced by Jalaluddin Khilji, thus ending the Mamluk dynasty. Thus, Shams ud-Din Kayumars was last sultan of Mamluk Dynasty.
