Rain deficient states will get financial assistance from the union govt . A monetary aid of Rs 1900 crore has been announced by the govt under various schemes for the same. The govt has also extended diesel subsidy of 50% to farmers to save the standing crops through groundwater irrigation.
- The cost would be shared b/w between the centre and the states.
- States facing rain deficiency are Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana.
