Cdr Ashutosh Pednekar of Indian Navy has become the first Indian to participate and win International tournaments in sport of Racketlon. He clinched gold medal in the men’s amateur and the veterans (plus 45) categories at the Nordic Racket Games held at Vejen, Denmark on May 28-29, 2016. Then, he won gold in plus 45 and silver in men’s amateur category at the prestigious Super World Tour- King of Rackets tournament held at Oudenaarde Belgium on June 3-5, 2016. Racketlon is a racket sport quadrathlon where players compete to become the best all-round racket player. It is modelled on the lines of decathlon/triathlon and is a combination sport comprising four racket games namely table tennis, badminton, squash and lawn tennis. It is an internationally popular sport, but in India, it is still young and unknown.
