"What we value guides not only our personal choices, but also our perceptions of the worth of others." What do you understand by this statement? Discuss

Values are those things that are important or valued by someone.  Values describe what is important in a person’s life.  Basically, they are the standards on the basis of which we evaluate something or make judgment about how desirable or undesirable that thing is to us. Values influence our behaviour and the behaviour of all those with whom we interact.
Values then tend to become our beliefs and may turn up to become either virtues or vices for life. This ultimately helps to guide our thought process for not only ourselves but also of others.
Therefore, it would be right to say that ”What we value guides not only our personal choices, but also our perceptions of the worth of others”.
