What do you understand by Agriculture Worker? Critically examine the trend population of agriculture worker in India's total population since independence.

Hint: Agricultural Workers are of two type viz. Cultivators and Agricultural Laborers. Agricultural laborer has no right of lease or contract on land on which she/he works. He is not even subject to the risks that cultivators are exposed.
The trend has been that fraction of cultivators has come down and agricultural laborers has gone up. This implies that more and more people of India are losing their land and they are either becoming farm labors or moving to other sectors. Since most of these people are either low skilled or unskilled, they have not many options but to become laborers either under private / unorganized sector or under government schemes such as MGNREGA. The dire need for skill development is necessitated here.
