What are your views about the Zero Waste Chennai initiative?

The Zero Waste Initiative has been undertaken by the Greater Chennai Corporation in collaboration between Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group. The primary aim of the initiative was to reduce the movement of solid waste to the sites of landfill. The waste which was collected has to be further processed and converted at the organic processing unit itself and was further sent to specialised scientific disposal centres. The idea is to give shape to a zero-waste model which can be re-produced all over the city of Anna Nagar.
