The water crisis in Tamil Nadu shows that there is a lot to learn about rainwater harvesting from our ancestors. Comment.

Water is a gift of nature and no human hand should be able to turn it into a curse like what has shaped up in Tamil Nadu as people are struggling to get an adequate amount of water for their daily living. In many parts there are reported clashes due to water. As there was not much rainfall last year so the reservoirs are drying. Our ancestors had predicted droughts in the past and so had built ponds in and around every village. They precisely knew how to harvest water. Thus, government should have been able to plan before and should have taken the required measures to handle the developing situation. The ancient wisdom which was long forgotten should be kept in mind and implemented accordingly.
