CISF win 10 medals ‘World Police and Fire Games’ 2019 in China

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sports personnel won 10 medals, at recently-concluded World Police and Fire Games 2019 (WPFG-2019) held at Chengdu, China’s southwestern Sichuan province.

Key Highlights

CISF sports personnel represented India in different sporting events held at WPEG-2019.

10 medals won by CISF includes 5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.

CISF DG Rajesh Ranjan felicitated sports personnel for their performance.

CISF has a comprehensive sports facility that seeks to foster culture of sports in force. This also ensures fair and reasonable opportunities to talented sports personnel so that they can fully realise their potential and win laurels for organisation and country.

About World Police and Fire Games

It is a worldwide Olympic-style sporting event which is held every two years. The 2019 edition was held from 8-18 August 8 in Chengdu city, China.

In this Olympic-style competition, Athletes from more than 70 countries participated and competed in more than 60 sports.

Participants: include representative from law enforcement, fire-fighters and police officers from corrections, border protection, probation, customs and immigration. In WPFG-2019 10,000 athletes participated.

WPFG-2021: World Police and Fire Games 2021 will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. WPFG-2023 will be in Winnipeg, Canada.
