Biological And Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC)

BWC is the first multilateral disarmament treaty banning the development, production and stockpiling of an entire category of weapons of mass destruction. The convention stipulates that states shall cooperate bilaterally or multilaterally to solve compliance issues. The BWC has 180 States Parties as of January 2018, with the State of Palestine the most recent to become a party. India signed the convention in 1973 and ratified it in 1974.
