International Volunteer Day 2019

International Volunteer Day is an international observance day to celebrate and promote the potential and power of volunteerism. The day was mandated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. International Volunteer Day marks an opportunity for every person around the world to encourage governments to recognize and support volunteer contributions and efforts for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national and international levels. Volunteerism is found in all religions, cultures, and languages, as communities across the world often experience strengthened inclusion and solidarity through it.
