Veer Gatha Project

The Government of India launched “Veer Gatha Project” as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under which government has been introducing several events to mark to 75th year of India’s independence.

What is Veer Gatha Project?

  • Veer Gatha project was launched to inspire the school children in India, by making them aware with stories of war heroes and brave hearts.
  • 25 students have been selected as the winners of this project.
  • Under it, students were motivated to do activities and projects, based on gallantry award winners.
  • This project was organised from October 21, 2021 to November 21, 2021 across India.

Which ministry organised the project?

The Veer Gatha Project was organised by Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

How many students participated in the project?

The Veer Gatha project witnessed the participation of more than 8,03,900 students from 4,788 schools across the country. Students shared their essays, drawings, poems, and multimedia presentations in the honour of Bravehearts.

Winners of the project

A National Committee selected a total of 25 students, being dubbed as “super 25”, after several rounds of evaluation and were declared the winners.

What will the winners receive?

The Super 25 will be felicitated on January 25, 2022, after they will arrive in New Delhi. They will also witness the Republic Day parade as special guests of Ministry of Defence. Furthermore, they will also receive a cash prize of Rs.10,000.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

It is an initiative of the Government of India, launched to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India as well as the glorious history of people, culture and achievements of India. The Mahotsav is dedicated to people of India, who have been instrumental in bringing India thus far. The “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on March 12, 2021 and will end on August 15, 2022.
