Street Scene in Montmartre

‘Street Scene in Montmartre’ is one of the few Van Gogh paintings that are still in private hands. It was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1887, when he moved to Paris and lived in Montmartre with his brother Theo. Recently, he painting came into the public display for the first time since its creation, when it was auctioned off at Paris for 15.4 million dollars. This art piece remained in the same family collection for more than a century.
