COVID 19 Recovery Rate Improves in India

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the recovery rate in India has improved to around 63.92% since the total number of recovery cases has reached 885576. Along with that, the gap between the recovered patients and active COVID 19 cases has increased to over 417000. The recovered cases are around 1.89 times the active cases.

All the states and UTs are advised to continue with rampant testing and implement the strategy of Test, Track and Treat. For the first time, a record 440000 tests have been conducted also in the country and with this feat, the number of tests per million has improved to 11805 and cumulative testing to over 1.62 crores in the country.

The government labs have also posted a record by testing 362153 samples and the private labs have contributed to more than 79000 samples tested on a single day.

Because of ramped up hospital infrastructure and public and private sector efforts for early identification and prompt triggering of COVID 19, the fatality rate is declining rapidly in India and also the number of cases getting tested is also increasing continuously.

The fatality rate in India is less than 2.5 per cent and stands at around 2.31 per cent, with this being one of the lowest fatality rates in the world, for this deadly virus.
