Tamil Nadu becomes India’s first State to enact a law on contract farming
Tamil Nadu has become the first State in India to enact a law on contract farming after President Ram Nath Kovind gave assent to the Agricultural Produce and Livestock Contract Farming and Services (Promotion and Facilitation) Act. The law will safeguard interests of farmers during times of bumper crop or when prices fluctuate.
