PM Modi to Address Smart India Hackathon Finale on August 1

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the grand finale of the world’s largest online Hackathon on August 1. During the grand finale, over 10,000 students will compete to solve 243 problem statements from government departments and industries. This is organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, All India Council for Technical Education, Persistence Systems and i4c.

What is Smart India Hackathon?

It is a new and disruptive digital technology identification platform in order to solve the challenges faced by the country. This is a unique initiative promoted by the government. This is a non-stop digital development competition, where problems are posed to the technology students to suggest an innovative solution.

In the grand finale to be held on August 1, 37 central government departments, 17 states governments and 20 industries will be involved in creating the problem statements for the participating candidates. Each problem statement will carry prize money of Rs 1 lakh.

There is also a student innovation theme and it will have three winners, first, second and third with prize money of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75000 and Rs 50000 respectively. The 2020 Edition is the fourth edition of this competition.
