German Chancellor Olaz Scholz visits India

The Inter-Governmental Consultation mechanism was established between India and Germany in 2011. After IGC, this is the first visit of a German Chancellor to India. Also, this was the first visit of Olaz Scholz as a chancellor. He visited India to discuss the Ukraine crisis and trade, China’s actions in the Indo-Pacific, the green transition, etc.

About the visit

Apart from the Ukraine war, the chancellor will also discuss trade-related matters. More than 12 CEOs have accompanied the chancellor. This includes Siemens and SAP.
