BARC re-commissions an upgraded version of nuclear reactor ‘Apsara-U’

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has recently re-commissioned an upgraded version of nuclear research reactor ‘Apsara-U’ with a higher capacity, which was shut down permanently in 2009 for revamp. Hemantha Rao to receive INS outstanding Service Award 2010

Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) Deputy Chief Executive (Fuels) GVS Hemantha Rao will receive the Outstanding Service Award 2010, conferred by the Indian Nuclear Society. An outstanding scientist, Mr Rao has vast experience in maintenance, project execution and fabrication of fuels used in BWRs and PHWRs and Sub Assemblies for PFBR.
