The NASA-ISRO SAR (NISAR) Mission is a collaborative project seeking to measure Earth’s changing ecosystems, dynamic surfaces and ice masses for the better understanding of biomass, natural hazards, rising sea levels etc. it will be first satellite mission to use two different radar frequencies (L-band and S-band) to observe the Earth surface. The agreement for this mission was signed in 2014 and launch date is set at 2022. ISRO recently announced the completion the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) under this mission.
India and US recently held the two plus two dialogue. During the meet the country’s decided to share space situational awareness information. This will catalyse efforts in creating safe and sustainable space environment A joint statement issued after the dialogue read that the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar called the NISAR is to be launched by ..
