‘Dak Karmayogi’ e-learning portal

On June 28, 2022, Minister of Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw launched ‘Dak Karmayogi’. It is an e-learning portal of Department of Posts.

Dak karmayogi

  • Dak Karmayogi portal has been launched with the aim of enhancing competencies of departmental employees and Gramin Dak Sevaks by enabling them to access uniform standardised content in blended campus mode or online.
  • This will enable them to effectively deliver several government-to-citizen services, in order to bring enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • On this portal, the training videos and quizzes are available in 12 Indian languages, which will help postal trainees in accessing training content in vernacular languages.
  • Dak karmayogi portal has been developed under the vision of ‘Mission Karmayogi’, which was conceptualized to bring efficiency in tactions of all government employees.

Background

During the launch event, the minister highlighted that, there were concerns over viability and future of postal department some 10-15 years back, due to proliferation of digital and email services. However, situation changed in 2014 when government decided to focus on transforming postal department. Government decided to strengthen the department by leveraging strength of its committed cadre and vast network. Under the transformation programme, around 40 government schemes are being delivered through postal department.

Mission Karmayogi

Mission Karmayogi is the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB). It aims to transform capacity-building in bureaucracy by bringing institutional and process reforms. The mission envisages to prepare Indian civil servants for future by making them more creative, imaginative, constructive, proactive, innovative, progressive, professional, energetic, transparent and technology-enabled.
