Antibiogramoscope: Device to Test Antibiotic Resistance

Anna University has discovered Antibiogramoscope device which tests antibiotic resistance in just 6 hours. This project is jointly supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Antibiogramoscope has cleared its validation test at NABL Accredited Microbiological lab in Coimbatore.

About National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)

NABL is a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India. that provides Government, Industry Associations and Industry in general  Accreditation (Recognition) involving a third-party assessment of technical competence of a testing medical and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing providers and reference material producers.

It is an autonomous society providing Accreditation in all major fields of Science and Engineering such as Biological, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical under Calibration facilities.

About Quality Council of India

QCI is a non-profit autonomous society aiming to establish an accreditation structure in the country and to spread quality movement in India by undertaking a National Quality Campaign. Its headquarters is in New Delhi.

Chairman of QCI is nominated by the Prime Minister of India and it is a non-executive post.

QCI came to be organized as an independent autonomous body that worked towards assuring quality standards across all spheres of economic and social activities having its associations with key industries like Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It got established under the Societies Registration Act in 1997 to provide accreditation services in various sectors for product, services and persons.
