Foundation Stone laid for Integrated Development of East Delhi Hub

The Union Home Minister of India, Amit Shah on Thursday, 26th December 2019, laid the foundation stone for the Integrated Development of East Delhi Hub in New Delhi. The Minister addressed the gathering during the occasion and announced the following developmental projects for the welfare as well as the overall development of the people in Delhi:

  • On priority basis- at both the banks of river Yamuna, creation and beautification of riverfronts. To reduce road accidents, a dedicated cycle track will be developed in New Delhi that will also promote green transportation. And up-gradation of JJ (Jhuggi Jhopri) clusters.
  • 18 projects have been completed at around Rs 802 crore under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)
  • New Metro lines of 116 kilometers have been sanctioned out of which work on 70 kilometers has already started.
  • The Union Government is developing the Rapid Transport Rail on a fast track basis between Panipat to Alwar and Delhi to Meerut.

On Integrated Development of East Delhi Hub, the Minister informed that 30 acres of land have been allocated for the mixed-use scheme, out of which 21 acres will be for residential purposes, 6 acres for commercial and for public facilities the remaining 3 acres, the cost of the development project estimated for Rs 1400 crore has been dedicated for the scheme.  The public facilities would include a Harit Bhawan, a skywalk, basement parking facilities and a cultural center among others.
