Rafael Grossi becomes new director-general of IAEA

Argentine diplomat Rafael Grossi has become the new director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for a term of 4 years and will assume office in January 2020. He will succeed late Yukiya Amano. Gossi will preside over the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons at the UN headquarter in New York from April to May.
