India to be theme country at 2025 Madrid International Book Fair
The Madrid Book Fair is being organized in Spain since 1993. More than 350 stalls are set up by publishers from all over the world. Book signing events are also held during the fair. The theme of the 2025 Madrid International Book Fair will be India. Spain was the theme of the International Book Fair held in Kolkata in January 2023.
About Madrid Book Fair
It is an annual event. No e-books are sold in the fair. Amazon and other e-commerce big giants do not have scope at the fair. However, Amazon is planning to put a stall at the fair.
Significance of theme “India”
The fair mostly sells books of Spanish speaking people. However, it promotes books of the guest country. In 2025, Indian books will be promoted at the fair.
World Famous Book Fairs
The world’s biggest and most expected book fair is the “London Book Fair”. Next to this, the Franfurt Book Fair held in Germany is also quite big.
Frankfurt Book Fair is held for five days. It is more of a trade fair. More wholesale dealers participate in the fair rather than common public. On the other hand, the London Book Fair is more of people’s fair. Participation of whole sale dealers is very less.
