National General Secretary BJP: Vasundhara Raje
Former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje is appointed as the national general secretary of BJP.

Sarvotam Jeevan Raksha Padak: Rukhsana Kouser

Kashmiri Gujjar girl Rukhsana Kauser from Upper Kalsi in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir was in news few weeks ago when she was awarded the National Bravery Award for her daring act of killing a Laskar-E-Taiba militant at her residence. She and her brother Aijaz have been conferred with the ‘Sarvotam Jeevan Raksha Padak’ by the Centre.

Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak was established by the President of India, 30 September 1961. It is warded to civilians to recognize acts of lifesaving, including cases of drowning, fire, or mine accidents “for conspicuous courage under circumstances of very great danger to the life of the rescue.

National Updates:
On additional power generation capacity in 11th Plan
During the 10th plan the target was 41,000 Mw, however the added capacity was 21220 MW. The government has set the capacity addition target of 78,577 Mw for the current Plan.

On Mid Term Appraisal of Eleventh Plan:
The Planning Commission in its mid-term appraisal (MTA) of the Eleventh Five Year Plan (2007-12) has scaled down the GDP growth target for the period to 8.1% from earlier projection of 9%.The MTA which was cleared by the full Planning Commission says that the path of fiscal correction is crucial for macro-economic credibility and larger private investment. The MTA document will now be placed before the Cabinet and thereafter before the National Development Council (NDC) for final approval.

India- Finland Agreement on Economic Cooperation
India and Finland share warm and friendly relationships. The relations date back to 1949 when Finland appointed its first Resident Ambassador in India. India opened its Diplomatic Mission in Helsinki in 1968.

2010 Australian Grand Prix : Jenson Button
On March 28, 2010 was held the 2010 Australian Grand Prix or Qantas Australian Grand Prix which was a Formula One motor race held at Melbourne, Australia. It was the second race of the 2010 Formula One season. The race was won by McLaren driver Jenson Button, the first back-to-back Australian Grand Prix winner since Michael Schumacher in 2002.

Jenson Button had also won 2009 Australian Grand Prix held in March 2009.
