The Class X board examinations can be re-introduced through an executive order. This proposal is expected to be tabled before the parliament after getting the necessary nod from the cabinet. However, the decision pertaining to the conduct of board examinations for class V and VIII will be left to the states. The HRD ministry has taken this stand with an objective to improve the quality of school education, especially of the government run schools.
