2nd ICP inaugurated by Prime Minister’s of India and Nepal

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at the Jogbani-Biratnagar border between India and Nepal, with the Prime Minister of Nepal, K P Sharma Oli on Monday, 21st January 2020.

This is the second Integrated Check Post between the two countries.  Prime Minister’s of both the nations inaugurated the Integrated Check Post through Video conferencing. This second Integrated Check Post has been built with the assistance of India, at Jogbani-Biratnagar will facilitate trade and movement of people between the countries. The first ICP was built on the Raxaul-Birgunj border in 2018. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that under the goal of ‘neighbor first policy’ of India, increasing the cross border connectivity one of the main goals of India and stated that India’s relationship with Nepal is not just neighborly but our history, geography is also connected through language, culture, etc. India also aims to reduce the effects of natural calamities on infrastructure by launching a coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure
