Advertising Standards Council of India

Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) is a self-regulatory voluntary organization of the advertising industry. It was founded in 1985 and is an NGO. Objective of the ASCI is to maintain and enhance the public’s confidence in advertising. Its mandate is that all advertising material must be truthful, legal and honest, decent and not objectify

Newspapers during British India

In 1684, British had established a printing Press in Bombay. However, even before that we have traces of Press in India. In 1550, the Portuguese had brought a Press Machine with them and the Jesuit of Goa published the first book in 1557. Since 1684, no newspaper was published in India in the company’s territories
