Pollution Pods at the COP25

Pollution pods have been set up in Madrid where the Conference of Parties Climate Summit is taking place. These are art installations that also serve as an awareness tool. These were created by Scottish artist Michael Pinsky. These pods let visitors experience the air quality in various cities around the world. These pods are a series of geodesic domes inside which the air quality and composition are controlled to mimic the actual conditions in the representative cities. Some of the cities exhibited were New Delhi, Sao Paulo and London. One pod represented Trondheim of Norway – which is noted for its very low pollution level. This Norway pod is to serve as a comparative standard. The conditions inside these pods were developed using safe fogs and various blends of perfumes. Each visitor is allowed two minutes inside these pods.
