Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) – 2021

The Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC), 2021 was held focusing on the Indian Ocean Region. This is the third edition of the conclave.

About Goa Maritime Conclave, 2021

  • The Navy Chiefs of twelve maritime forces attended the conclave. They were Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Seychelles, Myanmar, Maldives, Mauritius, Malaysia, Madagascar, Indonesia, Comoros and Bangladesh.
  • The GMC 2021 was held in Naval War College, Goa.
  • It is a multinational platform that uses collective wisdom of international maritime security providers.
  • The visitors of the conclave were afforded an opportunity of visiting indigenous ship building industry. Also, the visitors were afforded to visit the Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel of India that were designed for submarines.
  • The Conclave focused on the Indian Ocean Region as it has become strategic landscape in the 21st century

Host of the Conclave

The Chief of Indian Navy Admiral Karambir Singh hosted the conclave.

Session at the Conclave

The conclave was held over three sessions. They were as follows:

  • Collective Maritime Competencies to counter non-traditional threats
  • To strengthen regional cooperation enforcing maritime laws
  • To mitigate emerging non-traditional threats
