Former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s 42nd Death Anniversary

The entire nation remembered former President of India Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed on 11th February 2019, on the day of his 42nd Death Anniversary. Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, also paid floral tribute to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed at his mausoleum.

About Late Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed

  • He was born on 13th May 1905 and passed away on 11th February 1977
  • He was the fifth President of India (1974 to 1977) and the second President to die in office.
  • He is known for issuing the proclamation of emergency by signing the papers at midnight after a meeting with Indira Gandhi the same day on 25 June 1975.
  • The emergency went on for 21 months till its withdrawal on 21 March 1977.
