Fincluvation: IPPB’s New Fin-tech Initiative

On 21st April 2022, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) launched a joint initiative named Fincluvation with the aim of collaborating with the financial technology (fintech) start-up community so as to innovate and co-create solutions for financial inclusion.

Overview:

  • The mentors of Fincluvation will be working closely with the start-ups to tweak the products to the needs of the customers’.
  • It will also be looking to align the various market strategies with the operating models of the Department of Post (DoP) and IPPB.
  • Fincluvation has been launched on the occasion of the country’s 75th anniversary of Independence and is in line with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • Fincluvation will also be IPPB’s permanent platform for co-creating financial inclusion solutions in association with the participating start-ups.
  • Fincluvation is an industry-first initiative that will be creating a powerful platform to mobilize the country’s start-up community to build financial inclusion-related financial products.

Working of Fincluvation

Fincluvation has invited the start-ups to ideate, participate, and develop services and products tailored for the customers. The start-ups are being encouraged to develop solutions that are aligned with digitisation, creditisation, and market-led solutions that can help solve the DoP and IPPB problems of serving the customers. The start-ups through fincluvation will be working with the DoP and the IPPB to develop various solutions and will also be conducting pilots using the technology stack of IPPB and the postal network. The pilots that will be successful can be matured into extended partnerships.

Creditisation

It means developing inclusive and innovative credit products that are in line with target customers and taking the products to their doorsteps through the usage of the postal network.

Digitisation

Its purpose is to provide convenience by combining digital payment technologies with traditional services.
