Cryptojacking

Cryptojacking is the unauthorized use of a person’s computer system to mine cryptocurrency. Cybercriminals make use of re-profiled botnets so that control and command servers re-purpose infected computers to mine cryptocurrencies. The recent increase in the cryptocurrency prices has increased the instances of cryptojacking. Simultaneously, there has been a drop in the number of DDoS attacks detected. DDoS or Distributed Denial of Service attacks are used as a smokescreen for infiltration into a network and corporate sabotage.
