Buldhana pattern for water conservation

The Buldhana pattern is a framework for water conservation used in Buldhana district of Maharashtra in the Vidarbha region, which faces droughts often. In this pattern, construction of national highways is synchronized with water conservation. This is by converging the water conservation activities like desiltation and water body deepening with sourcing earth for construction of highways and railways. The NITI Aayog had prepared draft guidelines for water conservation based on this pattern.
