Brookesia nana

Brookesia nana or nano-chameleon is a newly discovered species of chameleon. Endemic to montane rainforest in northern Madagascar, it is considered to be the smallest known reptile. A male and a female were discovered in 2012 during an expedition. The male’s body is around 13.5 millimetres. The female was larger than the male measuring 29 millimetres. More of these species were difficult to find and their habitations are said to be threatened by deforestation.
