BBIN Motor Vehicles Agreement

Signed in 2015, the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicles Agreement (MVA) seeks to regulate passenger, personal and cargo vehicular movements between the member countries. It allows the signatories to ply their vehicles to each other’s territory. A newly released report by the World Bank, ‘Connecting to Thrive: Challenges and Opportunities of Transport Integration in Eastern South Asia’, analysed this agreement’s potential and compared it with international best practices.
