55th Raising Day of Border Security Force(BSF)

The Border Security Force (BSF) is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces of India, was formed on 1st December 1965 and, is termed as the First Line of Defence of Indian Territories.

With the Motto ‘Duty Unto Death’, BSF is the world’s largest border guarding force with a strength of over 2.57 lakh active personals including and commando unit, marine wing, an artillery regiment and an expanding air wing making 186 battalions.

On 1st December 2019, BSF celebrated its 55th Raising Day with Minister of State of Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai attending the celebration informed that the retirement age of jawans have been increased to 60 years and the jawans who are posted in Kashmir will be provided free of cost air travel from Jammu to Delhi.
