Band Baretha Wildlife Sanctuary

Band Baretha Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in Rajasthan. It was previously the wildlife reserve of the Bharatpur rulers and it was declared a protected are in 1985. It is noted for its numerous bird species like the Black Bittern and other wildlife like leopard, nilgai, wolves, etc. The standing committee of the Rajasthan Wildlife Board cleared a proposal to shift the sanctuary southwards to allow the mining of Bansi Paharpur sandstone.
