Artificial photosynthesis

Artificial photosynthesis is a chemical process that mimics the photosynthesis that occurs in plants and other autotrophic organisms. This process is carbon neutral as by-products are generally environmentally friendly. It can be used for increasing efficiency of solar energy utilization. Scientists at JNCASR have developed an artificial photosynthetic process that uses solar energy to convert captured carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide. This carbon monoxide can then be used as fuel in internal combustion engines.
