Amazonia-1 is a Brazilian satellite developed by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). It is going to be launched on board of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C-51 on February 28 along with three Indian payloads as part of ISRO’s first mission for 2021. Amazonia-1 is the optical earth observation satellite that will provide remote sensing data for monitoring Amazon deforestation. This observatory satellite is said to be the first to be entirely developed by Brazil.
PSLV-C51 Launched Amazonia-1 & 18 Co-passenger Satellites
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the first satellite for the year 2021. The satellite called PSLV-C51 which also carried Amazonia-1 and 18 other satellites was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on February 28, 2021.
