AIIMS Darbhanga gets Health Ministry Approval

The Union Health Ministry has approved to set up the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the campus of Darbhanga Medical College (DMCH). The decision was taken after the clarification from the Bihar Government that the Darbhanga Medical College is not a heritage building. The State Government had clarified to the Centre that DMCH building is not a heritage building in a written note. A 200 acres land will be provided for setting up of AIIMS. The proposal for this will be sent to the cabinet. This will pave the way for building and developing the upcoming new campus soon. The new campus will provide the degrees of MBBS, PG and other super specialties to the aspiring students.

The Bihar Government will make arrangements to connect the campus with NH-57 and 75 acres of land will be provided by the State Government with six months. The State Government will also construct an overbridge for the smooth passing of commuters to cross the railway track.
