Pooja Dhanda wins Bronze at 2018 World Wrestling Championships (WWC) in Budapest

Pooja Dhanda has won Bronze in the women’s freestyle 57kg weight class at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships (WWC) in Budapest, Hungary. She defeated Grace Bullen of Norway 10-7 in the bronze-medal playoff bout. This was India’s 2nd medal at the 2018 Championships, after Bajrang Punia won silver in 65 kg category in the ongoing event. With this, Dhanda became only the fourth Indian woman grappler to win a medal at the World Championship. Before Pooja, only three Indian women grapplers (Alka Tomar, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat) had won a bronze medal each at the Worlds Championships.
