October 2, 2009: Earnings of Delhi Metro Highest in September 2009
Since its inception in 2002, the Delhi Metro earned Rs.10 million every day, on an average, in the month of September 2009.It was close to 12 million on September 7.

October1, 2009 : Uttar Pradesh has lowest per capita power consumption in India
According to a report by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Uttar Pradesh has the lowest per capita power consumption India. The consumption per capita was 340 units. national Average in 640 units. However, the main reason was Power shortage.

UP government has embarked upon a grand power generation plan to match the national figures in a time-bound manner to provide electricity to the most deprived populace in the state. The governments approved setting up of three-way mechanism, as recommended by the Energy Task Force.

September 30, 2009: MTN-Bharti Airtel deal called off

September 28, 2009: Indra Nooyi leads list of 50 top women in world business
Indra Nooyi, Chairman and Chief Executive of PepsiCo has topped the inaugural Financial Times (FT) list of top 50 women in world business. Britannia Industries head Vinita Bali, Biocon Chairman and Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and HT Media Chairperson Shobhana Bhartia are the three other Indians on the list published.

Bali, ranked 22, Mazumdar-Shaw, placed 47, Bhartia, is at number 48.

September 28, 2009 : Bangkok Climate Meet
Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva opened the two-week meeting in Bangkok which is the dubbed as penultimate round of negotiations in preparation for a global climate deal in Copenhagen in December, 2009. The meeting from October 28 to Oct 9 is being attended by over 4,000 participants, including government delegates from 177 countries, representatives from business and industry, environmental organisations and research institutions. Before final meet at Copenhegen , a final five days of pre-Copenhagen negotiations is scheduleed in Barcelona in November.
