World’s Forgotten Fishes report

‘World’s Forgotten Fishes’ is a report that was released recently by 16 global conservation organisations, which includes the WWF and Global Wildlife Conservation. According to this report, nearly a third of all freshwater fishes are on the verge of extinction. These fishes are a source of protein to around 200 million people and livelihood to 60 million, half of whom is women. The reasons for declined population are climate change, overfishing, poorly planned dams etc.
