Sri Lanka unveils new Railway Line

The Sri Lankan government has announced to unveil a new railway line constructed between Matara and Beliatta in the southern part of the country. The 26.75 km railway line will eventually boost passenger traffic into the deep south. The extension was financed by the Export-Import Bank of China. Most of the construction was carried out by China Railway Group 5 and Sri Lanka’s Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau.
